AP Calculus AB is an Advanced Placement calculus course. It is usually taken after precalculus and is the first calculus course. This course teaches you the application of differentiation, integration, graphical analysis, including limits, asymptotes, continuity, and to apply mathematical reasoning to real-world models. We teach students to work with functions represented in a variety of ways: graphical, numerical, analytical, or verbal. They learn to understand the connections among these representations. They also learn to understand the meaning of the definite integral both as a limit of Riemann sums and the net accumulation of change, and should be able to use integrals to solve various problems. This course is more useful for the students to prepare for the AP Exam and further studies in science, engineering, and mathematics.
